Roopali Restaurant

You can find us in Napier Town, right across from where Jyoti Cinema is. It’s a good spot because of the theater and being near Naudra Bridge. There’s always a lot of movement around here in Jabalpur. We see people coming out of movies or just passing through on their way to the bridge area. The restaurant has been here for years, and the walls have seen a lot of faces. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze when it gets crowded, but we managed to fit enough tables for everyone. The noise from the street is always there, but you get used to it after a few hours of working. We don’t have a big corporate team; it’s just a few of us making sure the food goes out and the tables stay clean. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to mess with the generator, which is always a bit of a hassle. We don't really do fancy plating or any of those things. It’s just straightforward meals for people who are hungry and in a hurry. Most of our regulars are folks who work nearby or students who have a bit of time between their classes. We open early to get the kitchen prepped. There is always a lot of chopping and cleaning to do before the first customer shows up. That is pretty much our whole life here in Jabalpur.
