Narmada Restaurant

Our restaurant is over in the New Jagdamba Colony area of Jabalpur. We are right in the middle of the Krishi Upaj Mandi Market, so it’s a very active place. If you’ve ever been to the market, you know how it is—lots of trucks, people shouting, and stuff being moved around all the time. We set up here because there are always hungry people in the Mandi. Our place is pretty basic. We have a kitchen that stays busy from early morning and some seating in the front area. It’s not decorated with anything fancy. We’ve just got simple tables and chairs that are built to last. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we haven't gotten around to it yet. We don’t have a massive menu with hundreds of choices. We just stick to what we know and what the people around here like to eat. It gets pretty dusty because of the market and the road, so we are constantly wiping things down. We don’t use any complicated systems for orders; we just write them on a pad and shout them to the back. It can get a little disorganized when the lunch crowd hits all at once, but we manage to get everyone fed. We’ve been a part of this market for a while, and we’re just happy to keep serving the local workers and residents. It’s just an ordinary place for an ordinary day.
