Megh Dhaba & Family Restaurant

If you are driving down the Nagpur Road in Jabalpur, you will eventually see us at the Kaladehi area. Megh Dhaba & Family Restaurant has been sitting here for a good while. It is a main stop for people who are tired of being behind the wheel and just want to sit down. We have some tables inside the building and a bit of space outside too. The kitchen is always noisy with the sound of metal pans and the big stoves going. We start very early in the morning to get the fires ready for the lunch crowd. It gets quite busy on the weekends when families from around Hulki Kaladehi come over for a meal. We don’t have those fancy menus with pictures or anything like that. We just cook the food we know how to make. The staff are mostly local guys from the nearby villages. We spend a lot of time talking to the truck drivers and the families who are on their way to somewhere else. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to get the lanterns out, but the customers don’t seem to mind it much. It is just how life is out here on the road. We keep the place as clean as we can, though the dust from the road is a constant battle for us. We have some big trees that give us a little bit of shade during the hot summer months.
