Yaowl Producer Company Limited

Yaowl Producer Company Limited is tucked away on the second floor of the Fancy Enterprise building in Uripok Khumanthem Leikai. We are right near the Jas Oil Pump in West Imphal, so it is a busy spot with lots of traffic and noise. Being a producer company means we are basically a group of farmers and local producers trying to make a go of it together. It is a bit of a climb up the stairs, and our office is usually packed with papers and samples of whatever we are producing that month. It is not a corporate boardroom, that is for sure. We have meetings where everyone talks at once, trying to figure out the best way to sell our goods. Sometimes we disagree on things, but we always figure it out in the end. Being in Uripok means we are close to the heart of the city, which helps with getting things moved around to the shops. We do not have a lot of fancy furniture, just what we need to get the work done. The focus is really on the people back in the villages who are actually growing the stuff. We are just the ones here in the office trying to make the business side of it work for them. It is a lot of phone calls and ledger books. We have been doing this for a while now, and though it is tiring, it feels good to be working for ourselves. It is a real, local effort.
