Our group is located in Langmeidong Maning Leikai. It’s a small, tight-knit community where everyone knows everyone else’s business. We started this because we felt the farmers around here needed a way to talk to each other and plan things out. The office is just a simple building. We don’t have air conditioning or fancy chairs. Most of the time, the windows are open to catch a breeze while we look over the books. It’s not a polished operation. There are always muddy boots by the door because most of us come straight from the fields. We talk about real things like the cost of fertilizer or when the trucks are coming to pick up the harvest. We don’t use any marketing buzzwords because they don’t mean much to us. We just want to see the crops grow well and the farmers get paid. Sometimes we spend hours just sitting and talking about the rain patterns. It’s a slow kind of business but it’s steady. We don’t have a big sign out front, but everyone in Langmeidong knows where we are. We’re just a bunch of locals trying to help each other out. It’s a lot of work and sometimes it’s frustrating when things don't go as planned, but we stick together. That’s just how we do things in this part of the world every single day.
