Ngami Lup Fish Farmer Producer Company Limited

Ngami Lup is basically just a group of us who do fish farming around Yumnam Huidrom. We use O Sanamani Singh's place as a sort of base for paperwork and meeting up. It isn't a big fancy office, just a spot in the village where we talk about the ponds and what needs doing. Most of us have been around water and fish our whole lives. We decided to put this company together so we could handle things better as a group instead of everyone just doing their own thing. It's a lot of manual work. You have to check the water every day and make sure the feed is right. Sometimes the weather in Manipur doesn't help much, especially when it rains too hard or not enough. We are just local people trying to make a living from the land and the water here. It’s not a corporate setup with suits. We wear our regular work clothes and spend most of our time out by the ponds. We deal with the local markets around Hiyangthang. It's a simple life really. We just want to keep the fish healthy and get them to the people who need them. There are plenty of challenges with logistics and supplies, but having the producer company helps us stay organized. We mostly just focus on the daily tasks and making sure everything runs okay at the site.
