Hingminnashi Farmer Producer Company is based at H. Ranjit Kumar Singhthouwanthaba’s place in the Ied-Iii area. The name "Hingminnashi" means living together, and that is exactly what we are trying to do as farmers. We started this because the market can be really tough on a person working alone. When we come together, we can share the costs of things and maybe get a better deal on tools or seeds. It’s a practical thing. We are all neighbors here. We see each other at the local market and in the fields every day. Our history is basically just a story of a few farmers who got tired of the old way of doing things. We don't have a big office with air conditioning. Usually, we just meet up after the sun goes down to talk about what we are planting. Some of us grow vegetables, others have different crops, but we all face the same problems with the weather and the bugs. We try to help each other out when someone’s crop is failing or when there is too much work for one family to handle. It is just a simple life. We are not looking to become famous or anything. We just want to make sure the farming community in this part of town stays strong. It takes a lot of sweat and long hours, but we are used to it by now. Every season brings something new and we just try to keep up with the work as best as we can.
