United Engineering Enterprises

United Engineering Enterprises is located right at 151/6/1 on Narasaingha Dutta Road. It is in the Kadamtala area near the Bantra police station. If you walk down the road you will see the sign. It is a typical workshop setup where there is always noise from tools hitting metal. The floors stay dusty no matter how much we sweep them. We have been operating out of this spot for quite some time now. People in the neighborhood know the building. The mail comes to Po Kadamtala and the postman knows us well. It gets crowded on the street outside with rickshaws and people walking to the market. Inside, we have our equipment set up in the way that makes the most sense for how we work. It is not a large space but we make it work for the engineering jobs we take on. Sometimes the humidity makes everything feel heavy but we stay busy. There are a few of us here most days just getting through the list of things that need doing. We do not have a fancy office or anything like that. Just some desks and the workshop floor. We keep the paperwork in some old filing cabinets near the back. It is just a regular local business trying to do honest work on Narasaingha Dutta Road. The light is not great in the evenings but we have plenty of lamps. We have been through many seasons in this building and it feels like a second home to many of us.
