Sourav Engineering Works

Howrah is a very loud place and Benarask Road is no different from the rest of the city. We are located at P-271 and if you come by, you will hear the machines running before you even see the front door. It is an engineering workshop, so you should expect some noise and iron filings on the floor. We have been doing this for many years. Most of us grew up around heavy tools and scrap metal. It is hard work, especially in the summer when the heat in West Bengal gets really heavy and thick. We just drink a lot of water and keep the big fans going. We fix things, we make parts, and we try to make sure everything fits right the first time. There is a certain way you have to handle the lathes and the drills. It is not something you can learn in just a day. We have some older machines that still work better than the brand new ones we bought recently. Sometimes we spend more time maintaining our own tools than doing the actual jobs for customers. But that is how it goes in a workshop like ours. People bring in stuff that is broken and we see if we can get it spinning again. We do not have a fancy waiting room. Usually, people just stand around and talk while we look at the part. It is just life at Sourav Engineering Works.
