Shree Krishna Engineering Co. is right here in Ichapur, specifically over in Kamardanga, Santragachi. Most days it’s pretty loud in the shop with the machines running. We’ve been at this for a while now, just working with metal and getting parts ready for whoever needs them. It’s not a fancy place by any means. You’ll find grease on the floor and plenty of dust on the shelves, but that’s just how an engineering workshop is. Sometimes the heat in Santragachi gets to be a bit much, especially in the afternoons when the sun hits the roof, but we keep the fans going and get on with the job. People around here know where we are. We don’t spend much time on the computer or doing paperwork if we can help it, because there’s always something that needs fixing or a piece of steel that needs cutting down to size. The lathes have been here for years and they still run fine. We just handle the daily stuff that comes through the door. If you walk down the lane in Kamardanga, you’ll hear us before you see us. There is always a pile of scrap in the corner and a pot of tea sitting somewhere. It’s a basic setup. We aren't trying to be anything more than a local shop doing the work that keeps things moving. That is pretty much it for us. We'll be here tomorrow morning too, just like always.
