Rana Engineering Works

Our workshop is situated in Uttar Podrah, right on Chandrabati Road in the Goaberia area. It’s a bit of a trek if you aren't from around here, but it is where all the industrial action is. We have been operating out of this space for years. The floor is concrete and has plenty of stains from oil and coolant leaks. We mostly spend our time around the lathe and the milling machines. It’s loud, so we often have to shout to hear each other over the sound of metal being cut. We don't have a fancy website or a marketing team. Most of our work comes from people who just know us in the local industry. We do a lot of small-scale fabrication and parts repair. Sometimes a farmer brings in a broken piece of equipment, and other times it is a part for a larger factory nearby. We just take the measurements and start cutting. It’s a dusty environment and the light isn't always the best, but we manage. We take a break in the afternoon when the sun is at its peak. Usually, we just sit outside for a bit before getting back to the machines. It is a straightforward life. We do the engineering work, we hand over the finished parts, and we move on to the next job on the list.
