Radha Engineering Works

Radha Engineering Works is tucked away in the Ichapur Dakshinpara area of Santragachi. If you know the neighborhood, it is not too hard to find. We run a workshop where there is always some kind of metalwork going on. You can hear the sound of welding and grinding from the street. It is a gritty place with iron scraps and shavings on the floor. We have a few big lathes and some older machines that still run perfectly fine. The space is a bit dark inside, lit mostly by the sparks and a few hanging bulbs. We do not have an HR department or a marketing team. It is just us, the workers, and the owner. We take on all sorts of engineering jobs that the local people bring in. Some days it is very busy and we are working flat out, and other days it is a bit slower. We usually have a radio playing in the background to keep things lively. The Santragachi area is full of small workshops like ours, so there is a lot of competition but also a lot of mutual respect. We drink a lot of tea while we discuss how to fix a particular piece of equipment. We do not use fancy brochures to get work. People come to Radha Engineering Works because they know we will get the job done at our shop in Ichapur. It is honest labor and we take some pride in seeing a machine work again.
