Our workshop is tucked away in the Lakshanpur Industrial Belt over in Domjur. If you come by, you will hear the noise long before you see the sign. It is a loud place with the sound of metal hitting metal and the hum of the old machines we’ve had for years. The floor is concrete and usually has some oil stains or metal shavings scattered around near the workbenches. We do not really bother with a front office or a reception area because most of our time is spent out on the floor with our tools. It gets pretty hot during the summer months, so we keep the big doors open to catch whatever breeze comes through the belt. We mostly work on small parts and repairs for people around the local area. There is always a pile of scrap metal in the corner waiting to be cleared out, but it seems to grow back every week. We eat our lunch right there at the main table among the blueprints and wrenches. It is not the cleanest environment, but it is where we do our work every day. People from the other units in Lakshanpur stop by when they need a specific tool or just to complain about the electricity going out. We have been in this spot in Domjur for a while now and know the rhythms of the industrial area pretty well. It is just us doing what needs doing and keeping the machines running as best as we can.
