R. K. Engineering

R. K. Engineering is tucked away at 33/3/7, Lakshmi Narayan Chakraborty Lane in Kadamtala. It’s one of those narrow lanes where things can get a bit crowded, especially when we have materials being delivered. We’ve been here for quite some time now, and the neighbors are all used to the sounds of our metalwork. It’s a small-scale engineering operation, nothing like those giant factories you see in the movies. We do a lot of custom jobs for people in the area, whether it’s fixing a broken gate or making a specific part for a machine. The workspace is a bit tight, and we have to be careful about where we put everything so we don't trip over our own feet. There is always a layer of iron dust on the workbenches, but that just shows we’ve been busy. We don’t have a website or a big marketing budget. Most people find us just by walking down the lane or hearing about us from someone else in Kadamtala. It’s a very local kind of business. We spend our days cutting, welding, and grinding metal until it’s the right shape. It can be hot and tiring work, especially in the middle of summer, but we just get on with it. We aren't trying to be anything we’re not. We’re just a small shop doing engineering work the old-fashioned way with basic tools and a bit of hard work. It’s a decent life and we’re happy to be part of the neighborhood.
