M. B. Engineering Works

If you head down Howrah-Amta Road, you’ll find M. B. Engineering Works near the Japanigate area in Balitikuri. We’ve been operating out of this district for a long time, and the shop shows its age, but the machines inside are what really matter. It’s a noisy place, honestly. Between the welding and the grinding, you can’t hear much else most of the day. We don't have a front desk or anyone to greet you with a smile. Usually, everyone is covered in a bit of grease and busy with a part. We just take the jobs as they come. Sometimes it’s a small fix and other times it’s a big project that takes up the whole floor space. The road outside is always busy with trucks and bikes, which makes it easy for deliveries but hard for parking. We don’t spend money on fancy signs or advertising. Word of mouth has always been enough for us around here. People know where we are, right by Japanigate. We try to keep the work honest and the prices fair. We don't promise things we can't do. If a machine breaks down, we fix it ourselves. It's a rough environment, and it gets hot in the summer, but it's where we belong. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a lot, but we’re still here doing the same kind of engineering work we’ve always done. It’s just how we make a living.
