B.P. Engineering Works

We’ve been setting up shop here in Village Ichapur for a long time now. It is right in the Sealdanga area, not too far from the P.O. Satragachi. The place isn't much to look at if you are used to big city offices with glass walls. We have a lot of iron and steel lying around the yard. Most days start early before the sun gets too high because the shed gets really hot by noon. We do a lot of basic engineering stuff. If a part breaks on a machine or someone needs a frame welded, they usually find their way to us. There is always a layer of dust on everything, and the sound of the grinder is something you just get used to after a week of working here. We don't spend money on fancy signs or advertisements. People in the village and the surrounding parts of Satragachi just know we are here. Sometimes we sit out front near the entrance when the power goes out, which happens more than we’d like. We drink some tea from the shop down the road and wait for the lights to come back on so we can finish the lathe work. It’s just a small group of us keeping the machines running. We don't have a big corporate plan or anything. We just take the orders as they come and try to get them done so the customer can go back to their own work.
