Asoke Engineering Works

Asoke Engineering Works is out in Betai Amta. It is not the kind of place you would visit if you wanted to stay clean. There is oil on the floors and the sound of metal hitting metal is pretty much the soundtrack to our lives. We have been operating here for quite a while now. The building is an old one, with a roof that rattles a bit when the wind picks up during a storm. We have all kinds of machines and tools scattered around, and to an outsider, it might look like a mess. But we know exactly where the smallest wrench is kept. It is a bit of a walk from the main transport links, so it is mostly just us and the other local shops nearby. We don't have a front desk or a receptionist. If you come by, you just walk in and find one of us covered in grease. We spend long hours here, often starting before the sun is fully up to beat the heat of the afternoon. The air smells like iron and old engines. We have a small corner where we keep a stove for making tea, which is where we spend our breaks sitting on upturned crates. It is honest work and we don't try to make it seem like anything else. We are just a local engineering shop doing what we know how to do here in the Betai area. We just keep working every single day.
