Working out of Sipcot Industrial Complex in Phase II is pretty standard for us. We are over at Plot No E-9. It’s a big area, lots of trucks coming in and out all day. We deal with granite, mostly for shipping out. The yard is usually full of slabs waiting to be packed. It gets hot out here in the sun. We spend a lot of time checking the edges and making sure everything is square. Being in the expansion part of the complex means there is a bit more space, which we need. We don't really have a front desk or anything like that. If someone shows up, they usually just find one of us in the back. The machines run most of the day. It’s loud, so we use earplugs. We have a small crew. Everyone knows their job. We’ve been at this plot for a few years now. The paperwork for exports can be a headache sometimes, but we manage. We aren't trying to be the biggest, just trying to keep the orders moving. Most of our days are spent loading containers. It’s repetitive but we’re used to it. The granite comes in rough and leaves polished. It’s a lot of water and polishing pads. Sometimes we have to stay late to finish a load. It’s just how it goes in this industry. We keep a kettle in the corner for tea. That’s our main break. It’s hard work but it pays the bills for the families here.
