The area is quite traditional and we fit right in with the other small businesses around us. We deal with granite slabs, which are heavy and take a lot of work to move around. Our daily routine involves checking the new arrivals and making sure everything is stacked safely. It is not a high-tech operation. We rely on our hands and some basic machinery to get things done. The sun can be quite strong in Sultan Pet, so we try to do the heaviest lifting early in the morning before it gets too hot. We don’t have a marketing team or anyone to write fancy ads for us. We just open the doors and help whoever walks in looking for stone for their kitchen or floors. Most of our visitors are people from around here or contractors working on nearby houses. We show them the different colors of granite we have in stock. It is a bit dusty and the work is hard, but it is what we know. We like being part of the community in Kelamangalam. It is a straightforward business where what you see is what you get, and we plan to keep it that way for the long run. There is always something to do with the stones and the days pass quickly.
