About Saha Pan Stall – Food & Beverages in Hooghly
Saha Pan Stall is located in Nawabbagan, Chinsura. We are very close to Gangatala Kalibedi, which is a landmark most people in the area know. It’s a small stall, just big enough for me to stand in and keep all the ingredients for the pan. I’ve been doing this for a long time. People stop by on their way home or after they visit the temple. We have the usual things you’d expect at a pan shop. It isn't just about the pan, though; it’s a place where people stop to chat for a minute. The street can get busy, especially during festivals or in the evenings. I spend a lot of time preparing the leaves and the different fillings. It’s a bit of a repetitive job, but I like it. I know how most of my regulars like their pan, so I often have it ready before they even ask. The stall is simple, made of wood and some metal sheets. I keep it as clean as I can. It’s just a local business in Chinsura. No big plans, just staying here and serving whoever comes by. Sometimes kids come for sweets or elders for a chat. It’s a quiet life in Nawabbagan. Most days are the same, which is fine by me. I’ve seen the neighborhood change over the years, but the stall stays pretty much the same.
