Mukherjee Caterers

Our place is tucked away at 25, Justice M N Bose Lane. It’s near Masterpara in Konnagar, which is a bit of a quieter area compared to the main town center. Mukherjee Caterers isn't some big corporation with a lot of offices. It’s just a ground-floor space where we do all the prep and cooking for the local functions. Most of our days are spent chopping vegetables or cleaning the big brass vessels we use for the rice. The lane is narrow, so it’s always a bit of a struggle when the supply trucks come in. We’ve known the neighbors for years and they often stop by to chat while we’re working. The smell of spices is usually hanging in the air around Masterpara because of us. We don't have a receptionist or anyone like that. Usually, if the phone rings, one of us wipes our hands and picks it up. It gets really humid in the kitchen during the monsoon, but we just keep the fans going and get on with the work. We handle a lot of the traditional stuff people around here like to eat at their family gatherings. It’s not anything modern or experimental, just the usual food we’ve been making for a long time. We stay open until the last order is packed and sent out. It’s a simple life here in Konnagar and we like it that way. We've been at it for a generation.
