Deb Caterer

Deb Caterer is situated over at Kalupukur Jrerdhar in Khalisani. It’s a bit of a trek to get out here if you aren't from the area, but we’ve made it our home. Our daily routine involves waking up early to get the freshest stuff from the market before starting the stoves. We aren't a corporate company with lots of rules and manuals. We just know how we like things done and we stick to that. The kitchen at Kalupukur Jrerdhar is always busy with someone chopping something or washing up the big pots. We've had our fair share of burnt pans and spilled salt over the years. It’s all part of learning the trade. People around Khalisani usually just stop by to chat about their upcoming parties. We don't have a fancy presentation or brochures to show them. We just tell them what we can cook and how much it will cost. Sometimes we help out with the decorations too if they are short on hands. It’s a very hands-on kind of life. We don't spend money on ads because we'd rather spend it on better ingredients or fixing the roof when it leaks. Our team is small, but we’ve worked together for so long that we don't even need to talk much to get things done. We just want to provide decent food for the local community here.
