St Marys High School

Down in Arsikere, we’ve got St Marys High School. It’s been sitting here in Hassan for quite a while. The town is quiet, and the school is much the same way most days. We have students coming in from all the nearby villages and the town center. The building is solid, painted a color that’s faded a bit over the years. Inside, it’s mostly just the sound of chalk on boards and kids whispering when they aren't supposed to. We have some plants out front that someone tries to water every morning. It’s a basic setup. We have the usual subjects like math and science, and the teachers do their best to explain things clearly. Sometimes the power goes out, and we just open the windows wider to let the light in. It’s not a big deal. The kids are used to it. Lunchtime is the loudest part of the day when everyone opens their tiffin boxes. You can smell the different foods from the hallway. We don't spend much on big advertisements or anything like that. People know us because their older siblings or cousins came here before them. It’s a family kind of thing for many people in Arsikere. We just keep the doors open and try to help the kids pass their grades so they can find work or study more later on. It's a steady place for everyone involved.
