Our school is located right along SH 8 in Hirisave, which is part of the Hassan district. Since we are near the state highway, we see a lot of vehicles passing by, but the school itself is set back a little so it’s not too loud. It’s a simple building, nothing too grand, just a place where we have our classrooms and a small office. Most of the people working here are from around Hirisave or the nearby villages. We get to know the families pretty well because it’s a small community. The classrooms have basic wooden desks and we still use green boards for most of our teaching. We have a bit of open space where the kids can run around during their break, and they usually make quite a lot of noise out there. The weather around Hassan can be quite nice, so we often keep the windows open to let the breeze in. We don’t have a lot of complicated rules; we just expect the students to show up on time and do their work. Our days start early and we try to get everything finished before it gets too late in the afternoon. It’s a very practical, straightforward kind of place where we just focus on the basics of education without any extra fuss or expensive frills. We like the quiet life here on the edge of the highway and just want to keep things moving for the kids.
