St Micheal School is tucked away on Adlimane Road in the Lakshmipuram area of Hassan. It’s easy to find if you know the landmark. For a good number of years, we’ve been operating here and teaching the local kids. The school isn't some massive institution with glass walls. It’s a practical building made of brick and mortar. We have a set of stairs that creaks a little, and the walls have a few scuffs from kids running around. That’s just life in a school. Teachers here are local people who care about whether the kids actually learn their lessons. We don't use big fancy words to describe what we do. We just teach. There’s a playground out back where the grass grows a bit too long if we don't watch it. Students spend their mornings in the classrooms and their afternoons usually involve some sort of activity or just finishing up work. It’s a busy place but it has its quiet moments too, like during exams when you can hear a pin drop. We don't have a lot of bells and whistles. The focus is just on the books and making sure the students are ready for the world outside once they finish. It’s a simple life here on Adlimane Road. We show up, we do the work, and we see the kids grow up. It’s enough for us and for the parents too. We just keep going.
