Sri Aravinda English School

Our school is situated on Rc Road in Hassan. It is a busy street, so there is always some traffic noise coming through the windows. Being an English medium school in this area means we spend a lot of time encouraging the kids to practice their speaking. It isn't always easy, as many speak their mother tongue at home, but we keep at it. The building is a simple structure with several floors. We have a small office near the entrance where parents come to pay fees or ask about their child's progress. The classrooms are filled with the usual stuff—benches, cupboards, and charts on the walls. We don't have a huge staff, so everyone ends up doing a bit of everything. One day you are teaching, and the next you are helping organize a small event in the assembly area. The kids are generally well-behaved, though they get restless on Friday afternoons. We try to keep a steady routine because it helps everyone stay on track. Sometimes the fans are noisy, or the chalk breaks, but these are small things. We just want to provide a place where kids can come and learn the basics without any fuss. Most of our students come from the middle-class families nearby. It is a local school run by local people who just want to do a decent job for the community here in Hassan.
