Mishra Caterers has its shop right on Mata Road in Gurgaon. If you walk by, you’ll probably smell the spices before you see the sign. We’ve been here for quite some time now, cooking for the people in the neighborhood. It’s a busy kitchen. We aren't doing anything fancy or experimental; we just make the kind of food people grew up eating. From large weddings to small family gatherings, we’ve seen it all. Our team is small, mostly made up of people who have been with us for years. We spend our days peeling sacks of potatoes and stirring giant pots of gravy. It’s hot, hard work, especially in the Gurgaon summers. We don’t have a big office or fancy brochures. People usually find us because they ate our food at a cousin’s wedding or a friend’s house and asked for our number. We think that is the best way to do business. We try to keep things honest and straightforward. We tell you what we can do and then we do it. Sometimes we run out of a certain ingredient and have to rush to the market, but we always make it work. It’s a simple life centered around the stove and the serving table. We are just local caterers trying to make sure nobody leaves an event hungry. It is what we have done every day since we opened our doors.
