Aptech Engineers

You can find us down Lane No. 9 in the Kadipur Industrial Area, which is just off Pataudi Road. It is a busy industrial patch where many small shops are located. Aptech Engineers is one of the smaller outfits in this lane. We do mostly mechanical engineering and fix various parts that people bring to us. Our shop is packed with tools and machinery, some of which are quite old but still do the job perfectly well. We have a small yard out front where we store metal scraps and larger pieces we are working on. Pataudi Road can be a real headache with all the truck traffic, so we try to get our movement done early in the day. Inside the shop, the walls have old calendars and hand-drawn diagrams pinned up everywhere. We don’t use many fancy computers for our work; it is mostly based on hand measurements and years of experience. The work is often dusty, and the summer heat makes it quite a challenge since the fans don’t do much. Every afternoon we take a break for tea and sit on whatever crates are around to talk for a bit. It is a local operation, and we like the simplicity of it. Most of our customers are from other nearby workshops who need something specific done. We just take it one day at a time, making sure the work is solid.
