Apni Rasoi

We’ve been running Apni Rasoi for some time now. You can find us over at Shop No U 71/4 in DLF City Phase III. It’s a busy little corner. Most days start pretty early because there is always something to chop or clean before the lunch crowd shows up. The kitchen gets hot, especially in the summer months, but we just get on with it. It’s not a fancy place, just a regular shop where we cook what we know. Sometimes the delivery guys are waiting around and the phone doesn't stop ringing. We try to keep up with the orders. People from the offices nearby usually drop in. It’s nice to see the same faces every day. We don't really do big advertisements or anything. We just open the shutters and start the stoves. Some days are more chaotic than others, especially when a big order comes in at the last minute. The floors get scuffed and the walls need a new coat of paint every now and then. That’s just how it goes when you’re busy cooking all day. We use a lot of onions and tomatoes, that’s for sure. The space is small, but we make it work. If you are walking around Phase III, you’ll probably see us there. We’re just a bunch of people trying to make a living by feeding whoever walks through the door. It’s simple, really. No big story behind it, just a lot of daily work.
