Shalin Impex Pvt. Ltd. is based on the first floor of a building in DLF Phase 1, specifically A- 8/ 8. It’s a nice enough area, though parking can be a real headache sometimes if you get here late in the morning. Our office is up the stairs, and once you get inside, it’s mostly just desks, computers, and a lot of files. We spend a lot of our time on the phone or typing away at emails. It’s not the most exciting work, but it’s what keeps the lights on. Being in DLF Phase 1 means we are close to a lot of other businesses, so there is always people moving around the hallways. We have a small kitchen area where we make tea and eat our lunch. Sometimes we order in from the shops downstairs when we are too busy to go out. The windows look out over the street, so we see the traffic jams and the weather changing while we work. It’s a small team here, so everyone knows what everyone else is doing. We don't have big meetings or fancy presentations. We just sit down, look at what needs to be done for the day, and get to it. Some days the internet is slow and we all complain, but mostly we just get our tasks finished and head home. We have some plants on the balcony that we sometimes forget to water. It’s just our little corner of DLF Phase 1 where we get things done.
