Pooja Marbles

If you’re driving through Sushant Lok 1 in Gurgaon, you’ll probably pass by C 2714 where we keep all the stone. It’s a dusty place, honestly, because cutting and moving marble just creates a lot of white powder. We’ve got stacks of slabs sitting out, some from nearby and some from further away. Haryana gets very dusty anyway, so we are used to it. People come by looking for something for their floors or maybe a kitchen counter. We aren't interior designers or anything; we just show them what we have in the yard. The pieces are heavy and it takes a couple of us to move anything around so people can see the patterns. It's a simple setup. A small room for the bills and a big open space for the stone. We spend a lot of time washing down the slabs so the colors actually show up through the dust. Gurgaon has grown so much around us, with all these big buildings going up, but we are still just here at our spot. Sometimes it gets quiet, and other times it’s a mess of trucks and workers. We don't do any big marketing. Most people just find us because they live nearby or someone told them we have a good stock of marble. It’s just us, some heavy rocks, and the daily grind of the marble trade.
