S. P. M. Slate House

Our place, S.P.M. Slate House, is in room 210 of Deep Plaza. We're right across from the New Court, so it’s always busy with lawyers and people heading to their hearings. We focus mostly on slate and similar stone materials. It’s heavy work, even if the office is in a plaza. We have samples all over the place, showing the different colors and textures that slate can have. People come in looking for something for their roofs or floors. We aren't fancy talkers. We just show them what we have and tell them how much it costs. The building is usually full of people rushing around, but we stay in our little corner and keep things moving. We’ve spent a lot of time learning about the different quarries and where the best stone comes from. It’s not just about selling; it’s about knowing what we're talking about when someone asks a question. Sometimes the office gets a bit crowded when a whole family comes in to pick out stone, but we make it work. We don't have a big marketing budget or anything like that. Most people find us because they saw our sign while going to the court or heard about us from a neighbor. We just keep doing what we do, day in and day out. Sometimes the hallway outside gets noisy with people arguing about their cases, but we just shut the door and focus on the stone orders in front of us.
