Shivij Farmer Producer Company Limited is a local group out of Mathura. We are specifically based in Vill Barauda, Mashrakpur, which is near the Parkham Farah area. Shyambabu is the person who keeps things organized at our main spot. This company is basically just a collection of us neighbors who decided to pool our resources. Farming around Mathura has its own set of challenges, especially with the water and the seasons. We get together to talk about the price of fertilizers or how to get a better deal on renting a tractor. It is a very practical business. There is no corporate office with a receptionist. You just walk up to the house and someone will be there to talk. We spend our days either out in the fields or sitting in the shade discussing the next harvest. We aren't trying to grow into a massive corporation. We just want to make sure the farmers in Barauda and Mashrakpur have a way to stay afloat. Sometimes the paperwork is a headache, and we have to go into town to get things stamped, but we do it because it helps the group. We are just local people working hard and trying to keep our village farming going. It’s not always easy, but having the company makes it a bit more manageable for everyone involved.
