Kumharia Baghwani Producer Companylimited is based in Village Gorakhpur. We use house number 186, which is Aanand Parakash’s place. We are a small group of people interested in baghwani, or what most call horticulture. Around here, we have a lot of potential for growing fruits and different plants, not just the usual grain crops. We started this company to help the local growers in Gorakhpur get organized. It’s hard to do everything alone, especially when you are trying to grow something specific like fruit trees or vegetables. We spend a lot of time at the house talking about which plants are doing well and how the soil is looking this year. It’s a very local thing. We don't have a big office building or a website that looks perfect. We just have our names and this house where we meet. Everyone knows everyone else in the village, so news travels fast. We are just trying to make sure the gardens and orchards in this part of the region are productive. It’s a lot of manual labor and waiting for things to grow. We don't make big promises, we just put the work in every day. Being part of a producer company helps us when we need to buy things for the plants or get a better price. It's a simple, honest way to handle the farming life in our village. We like it that way.
