Dwivedi Farmer Producer Company Limited

Out here in Bhunna Tirwaganj, things usually move at their own pace. This company was set up to help out with the local farming and give the people here a bit more support. Shubham Kumar Dwivedi’s place is where we handle all the mail and the meetings for the group. It is a collective effort, really. A bunch of us decided that working as a unit made more sense than everyone going it alone and struggling with the same old problems. A lot of time is spent talking about the soil and what crops are growing well this particular season. Tirwaganj is a place where people really value hard work and honest dealings. There is no marketing department or anything fancy like that here. We just have our names and our reputation in the village to go on. Sometimes the paperwork gets a bit much for us, but we manage to get through it eventually. You will usually find someone around the office if you have a question about how the collective works. We are not trying to be the biggest company out there, we just want to be useful to the people living nearby. The roads get a bit dusty in the dry season but that is just part of living in this region. Day-to-day tasks keep us busy like anyone else. It is just us, the local farmers, and the land we work on every day. We hope to keep doing this for a long time to come because it matters to the folks here.
