You’ll find us at Nathoo Ram’s place in Purwa Patti, over in the Bhaipur area. Freshgarlic Superfoods Producer Companylimited is mostly about, well, garlic. A group of us farmers decided to focus on this because it’s what we know how to grow best in this soil. It’s a lot of bending over and working in the dirt, which isn't easy on the back, but it’s what we do. We don't have fancy processing plants. Most of the cleaning and sorting happens right in the yards or under the sheds we’ve built. It’s a very hands-on process from the moment the bulbs come out of the ground. We spend a lot of time making sure the garlic is dried properly because if you rush it, you lose the whole batch. The weather can be a real pain, especially when it rains during the drying season. We’ve all known each other for years, so working together as a company felt like a natural step. We keep our overhead low and just focus on the crop. There aren't any big offices or shiny signs around here. We just have our names on the paperwork and a lot of garlic to move. It’s hard, smelly work sometimes, but it’s honest and it keeps us going. We’re just local folks trying to get our produce out to people who need it. The harvest keeps us busy for several months, and then we start preparing the soil again for the next round.
