If you take the Nauranga Road through Baiganv, you’ll find us easily enough. Paraswar Farmer Producer Company Limited is pretty much run out of Manoj Kumar’s place. It’s a local operation, plain and simple. We are a group of farmers who decided it was time to put our heads together. Farming in Baiganv has its own set of challenges, from the soil quality to getting the right tools when you actually need them. We spend a lot of time on that road, moving things back and forth. Manoj’s house serves as the main point where we all meet up to discuss the business side of things. It’s nothing fancy, just a room with enough space for a few of us to sit and go over the books. We don’t use a lot of big words or have complicated strategies for the future. We just talk about what’s happening in the fields and how we can sell our produce without getting a bad deal at the end of the day. There are good days when everything goes right and the weather holds, and then there are the days when everything seems to break down at once. That’s just the way it goes when you’re working with the land. We’ve all known each other for years, so there’s a lot of trust involved. We aren't looking to become some massive company; we just want to make sure the farming families on Nauranga Road can keep doing what they do best.
