You can find the Gajendra Mani Banshiya Producer Company Limited at Santosh Mani Tripathi’s place in the Bansahiya area of Chauri Chaura. We are a group of local farmers who decided that maybe we should stop trying to do everything on our own. It’s hard to survive as a small farmer these days, and we figured that if we formed this company, we could at least help each other out. We don't have a fancy office or any polished staff. It’s just us, usually sitting in the shade outside Santosh’s house, talking about the crops and the weather. We named it after our local area because this is where our roots are. Most of us have been working these fields since we were kids. We handle things like grain collection and getting seeds for the next season. The paperwork is probably the hardest part for us because we’d much rather be out in the dirt than sitting at a desk. We don't always get everything right the first time, and sometimes there’s a lot of arguing about how to handle the money or the transport. But at the end of the day, we are all neighbors and we want to see the village do well. It’s just a simple, local operation run by people who know what it’s like to work the land. We aren't looking for fame, just a way to keep our families fed and our farms running through the tough seasons.
