Shri Banke Bihari House

We are on Railway Road over here at Hardev Saray Mohalla 89. It is a pretty regular spot and we have been here for a while now. The day usually starts with sweeping the front because it gets a bit dusty with all the trains passing by so close. People often stop in after they get off at the station. It is not a very large shop, just a few rooms where we keep our stock. We have things people need for their houses and daily life. Most of the time, we are just sitting on our stools waiting for the next person to walk in. It gets much busier in the evenings when everyone is coming home. There is a tea stall just a few doors down where we get our first drink of the morning. It is a very normal, day-to-day kind of existence. We try to keep the shelves mostly full so nobody leaves disappointed. If someone asks for something we don't have, we try to remember to pick it up the next time we go to the main market. The shop isn't fancy at all. The floor is made of that old stone that stays cool in the summer. Sometimes the neighborhood kids run past and make a lot of noise, which keeps things lively. We know most of the families around here by their names. It feels like home after all these years of being here. There is always traffic on the road, but inside it is fine.
