Kitchen Trainee

Our place is located at 267 Hindon Vihar in Ghaziabad. It is a busy neighborhood and we are right in the middle of it. The kitchen here is where most of the action happens. It gets really hot, especially when all the burners are going at once in the afternoon. We spend a lot of time chopping vegetables, cleaning up, and learning how to handle the different tools. There is always a lot of washing to do, which isn't the fun part, but it has to be done. The floors can get a bit slippery with all the cooking going on, so we have to be careful. We are just a bunch of people trying to learn the trade. Some days are harder than others when a lot of orders come in or when something doesn't turn out right and we have to start over. The smell of onions and spices usually hangs in the air all day long. We don't have fancy equipment, just the basic stuff you would find in most kitchens. We are pretty close-knit because we spend so many hours together in a small space. We take our breaks outside when we can just to get some fresh air away from the stove. It’s not a glamorous life, but it’s what we do. We just keep our heads down and focus on getting the food right. Every day is a chance to get a little better at the job.
