Nari Shakti Jeevika Mahila Poultry Producer Company Limited

This poultry company belongs to the women of Karmouni village. We are part of the Jeevika program, and we set up our main point of contact at Anil Yadav’s place, house number 15, which is right near the village hospital. If you come to the Dobhi area, you will find us busy with our chickens. We started this because we wanted the women in our community to have their own income and not just depend on the men. It is hard work raising poultry. You have to be up early to feed them and make sure the sheds are clean. We share all the responsibilities among ourselves. Some women look after the chicks, others handle the accounts. We are not professionals with degrees; we learned everything by doing it. Karmouni is a small place, so word travels fast when we have eggs or meat to sell. We don't spend money on ads. We just focus on keeping the birds healthy. Sometimes we have problems with the heat or getting the right feed delivered to Dobhi, but we help each other out. It is a real community effort. We feel proud when we see our business growing even a little bit. It means more food for our kids and a better future for the village. We are just a group of hardworking women doing what we can to improve our daily lives through this collective.
