Krishakutthaan Farmer Producer Company Limited is based out of Villsaraiyan in the Shekhpura area of Hasanpura. We’re over at the place belonging to Quddus Khan, who is the son of the late Abdul Rashid. This area has a lot of history with farming, and we’re just the latest ones trying to keep it alive. We’re a group of local farmers who decided that we’d had enough of trying to figure everything out on our own. It’s a lot of pressure when you’re the only one responsible for your family’s income and the crops aren't doing what they’re supposed to do. By coming together, we feel a bit more solid. We talk about the basics—what seeds are working, where to get the best prices, and how to handle the water situation when it gets dry. It’s very down-to-earth stuff. We don't use big words or have complicated plans. We just meet up in the village and chat about what needs to be done. Most of us have known each other since we were kids, so there’s a lot of trust there. We’re just trying to make sure that the hard work we put into the fields actually leads to something good. It’s about supporting the people here in Saraiyan and making sure we can all keep farming for years to come. No one is trying to get rich quick; we just want to live decent lives.
