Maanpur Farmers Producer Company Limited started right here in Sondhi, Gaya. We are located at Satendra Kumar’s house, he is Gouri Shanker Mahto’s son. It’s a quiet spot but we stay busy with the local farming work. People around here know us because we’ve been part of the village for a long time. Farming in Bihar isn't always easy and there are many days when the weather doesn't help at all. We just try to get things done. Most of us grew up watching our parents work the land in Gaya. Now we have this company to handle the paperwork and the selling part of things. It’s not a fancy office or anything like that. We just sit together, talk about the crops, and figure out how to move forward. Sometimes the meetings happen on the porch. We don’t have big corporate goals, we just want the farmers in Sondhi to get a fair shake. There is a lot of mud on our boots most days. Satendra helps keep everything organized from his place. It’s a simple setup. We deal with whatever comes up, whether it’s seeds or just talking to the neighbors about the harvest. People drop by when they need something or just to say hello. It feels more like a family than a business really. We are just local people trying to make a living from the ground. That is how it goes here in Gaya.
