The Indian Public School

Our school is over on the 10th Cross in Panampilly Nagar, which is a fairly well-known part of Ernakulam. It’s mostly a residential and office area, so we are tucked away from the main road noise, though it still gets busy during the drop-off hours. Being in Kochi, we have to deal with a lot of rain for several months of the year. You will often see a line of umbrellas and raincoats drying out in the corridors. The building is a regular city school structure where we try to fit everything in. We have students coming from all over Ernakulam, so the mornings are always a bit of a scramble at the entrance. The classrooms are simple and functional, and we don't spend much on fancy decorations. Our staff is made up of people who have lived in the city for a long time and understand the local pace of life. We don’t use any big marketing talk; we just show up, teach the classes, and make sure the students are doing their work. There is usually some kind of event being planned, like a small cultural program or a sports day at a nearby ground since our own space is a bit limited. It gets a bit difficult during the heavy monsoon weeks when the roads get flooded, but we just manage as best as we can. It’s a practical place for education without any unnecessary drama.
