Kpm Highscool

Kpm Highscool is right here in Puthankavu. If you know the Poothotta area in Ernakulam, you probably passed by us many times. It's an old building but it does the job. Every morning, the kids come in from all the nearby houses and the noise starts. We have the usual classrooms and a bit of space for them to run around during the breaks. It gets quite hot in the afternoons, so the ceiling fans are always humming. The teachers live mostly around here too. We spend a lot of time just managing the daily schedule and making sure everyone is where they need to be. There's a lot of paperwork usually piled up in the office. It isn't a fancy place with air conditioning or anything like that. Just wooden benches and blackboards. Some of the windows don't close right when it rains, but we manage. You can see the green trees from the upstairs rooms. Sometimes the buses on the main road are a bit loud. People in Poothotta know us well because their kids or their neighbors' kids go here. We try to keep things organized but it's a school, so it’s always a bit messy with books and bags everywhere. It's just a normal part of the community here in Ernakulam. We open early and stay until the last kid gets picked up or walks home in the evening.
