Kasturba English Medium School

Down on Charnellur Ferry Road, things are usually pretty steady. Kasturba English Medium School sits right there in Manjummel, and you can hear the birds in the morning before the buses start arriving. It is a bit humid being here in Ernakulam, so the fans are always spinning in the classrooms. We have been at this address in 683501 for a good amount of time now. The building is painted a simple color and has several floors. It is not like those big corporate schools you see on TV. We have wooden desks that have been used by many students over the years. During the lunch break, the kids sit outside or in the halls. You see a lot of bicycles parked near the entrance. Manjummel is a decent place to be, not too loud but close enough to everything else. Sometimes the delivery guys get confused by the ferry road name, but once they see the gate, they know where it is. We try to keep things organized, though it can get a bit hectic during the monsoon when the rain hits the roof. The staff rooms are full of old notebooks and registers. It’s just a regular school where people come to learn and go home. Nothing too complicated about how we run things daily. Most of the families living around here know us by name. It is a familiar sight on the road.
