St Marys Public School

Our school is located at Thamarachal, right in the Kizhakkambalam area of Ernakulam. It is a simple building, marked as number 4/362A. We have been here for years, and most people in the village know who we are. The morning starts with the sound of the gates opening up. We have a few buses that bring in kids from the surrounding parts of Ernakulam. Inside, it is mostly just rows of classrooms and a small office area for the staff. We do not have fancy carpets or expensive art on the walls. It is just paint and some old wooden furniture that we have used for years. We spend our time teaching the basic subjects and making sure the kids follow the rules. Sometimes the heavy rain makes it a bit difficult to get around the yard, but we deal with it. The kitchen staff stays busy preparing things, and you can often smell whatever is cooking from the hallways. We do not have a big marketing budget, so we do not have many shiny signs. We just have our name on the front and that is about it. The teachers here have been around for a long time. We know the families and their siblings who went here before them. It is a community thing for us. When the school day ends, we lock up and head home like everyone else. The place is quiet on the weekends, just waiting for Monday.
