Government Lower Primary Girls School

Our school is a small government lower primary school for girls located in the Gowreeswara area of Cherai. If you know Vypin, you know it’s a bit away from the main rush of Ernakulam city. The school is right in the heart of the local community. We have the youngest kids here, mostly from the families who live within walking distance. The building is a simple structure with the typical tiled roof you see in this part of Kerala. Inside, the classrooms are basic. We have some charts on the walls and small benches for the girls. It’s a quiet place most of the time, except for when the kids are at play or during the lunch break. We don't have many resources, so we make do with what the government provides. The teachers are mostly local women who have been working here for years. We know the parents and the grandparents of our students. It’s a very close-knit environment. The sea isn't too far away, so we get a bit of a breeze on the hotter days. We spend our time teaching the basics like reading, writing, and simple math. There are no big ceremonies or expensive events. We just follow the daily schedule and make sure the children are learning something. It’s a modest school that has been serving the Cherai area for a long time. We just keep the place clean, open the gates every morning, and do our best with the students we have.
