Down here on Thrissur Road in Angamaly, we’ve got Orma Marble Palace Pvt. Ltd. set up right in the Kothakulangara area. It’s a busy stretch of road, so there’s always noise from the traffic passing by. We’ve got a lot of marble and different stones sitting around the yard. It gets pretty busy when a new truck arrives from the quarries. We have to clear space and move things around, which takes a lot of muscle. The rains in Kerala can be a bit of a problem for us since we’re working outside a lot. Everything gets wet and slippery, and we have to be extra careful with the heavy slabs. We’ve been here long enough that most people in Angamaly know the spot. We don't go in for big speeches or fancy presentations. If you want to see the marble, you just walk around the stacks and look. We’ll tell you what’s available and what’s not. Sometimes we run out of a certain color and have to wait for weeks. That's just how the stone business works. The guys in the back are usually busy with the grinders or loading up a customer's vehicle. It’s a lot of physical labor. We’re just regular people trying to run a business on the side of a busy road. It isn't always perfect, but we stay busy and the work gets done eventually. We try to be fair and honest with everyone.
