Jay Jay Marbles

Jay Jay Marbles is out near the toll gate in Kumbalam. We are in the Kochi district, right where the traffic picks up. It is a dusty yard full of stone slabs. We have been here for a while now. People looking for flooring often stop by because they see us from the road. It is heavy work. We spend our days moving marble and granite around. The sun gets really hot in the open yard. We don't have a fancy office, just a small cabin where we sit. My clothes are usually covered in stone dust by the end of the day. Kumbalam is a good spot because of the highway access. We get trucks coming in from all over. Sometimes the pieces break and that is a loss, but that is part of the business. We don't do big ads. Most people just see the stacks of marble when they are driving toward the toll gate. It is a simple operation. We show people what we have, we talk about the price, and then we load it up. It is physical labor and can be tiring. But seeing the different patterns in the stone is nice. We are just a local yard doing our work with the stone we get. It keeps us busy enough most days.
